Can't wait to see if the real # 10 continues to surface tonight - If so the Ducks become a completely different team - the addition of Eaves continues to pay monster dividends not only for the Ducks but also the fact of keeping him away from Chicago or wherever else he may have been headed - If the Bern keeps playing the way he has Ducks will be fine - was actually better against Wash than Chicago - the Ducks passing and breakouts against the Caps was just damn near perfect - another effort like that and it will be 2 in the bank tonight -

"The Bosses Wife

A look at “Ek's PhD Wife's Final Projected Standings” place the Ducks second in the Pacific and fourth overall in the West with 104 points. I order to pull it off, they would need to take 20 points in their final 15 games. A doable feat, but it won't be easy considering 11 of those contests are against teams currently occupying a playoff position."

Ducks have 13 games left, and currently have 82 points. Ek acknowledged his final projections were all messed up. His "corrected" projections (playoffs) should be forthcoming, but he's all over the place with his corrected final standings (now Edmonton out and Kings in). Note our new point total is 101 (and we're losing in OT to St. Louis tonight). fyi

That section was a reinforcement of the first two sections. At full strength the Ducks can hang with anyone. Bernier plays just well enough to give them a chance.

I agree Ed. Ducks don't have 15 games left, they have 13. You're a good journalist Ed, just correcting an error.

What a joke of a fan base.

Yes, yes it is.

Wait does L.A. actually have any real fans or are they ALL bandwagoners?

Minus the celebrities in the crowd, do they have real hockey fans?

I think when "your team" can't close the deal against one of the leagues doormats, that's the cue to catch up on MLB.

I read the Blues threads a lot. You usually write some insightful stuff. You're better than this.

"We're not bandwagon fans! Just look, we've sold out every home hockey game since our recent Cup win that coincided with the Lakers starting to suck!"

Not saying all Kings fans are bandwagoners... but neither is your post lol.

The Kings sold to 93.6% attendance capacity in the 2009-2010 regular season after missing the playoffs for 6 consecutive seasons.

That's better than Anaheim that season, who filled only to 88.3% capacity despite only being two seasons removed from a Stanley Cup victory.

In fact, the Kings have not had an attendance capacity under 90% since 2001. The Blues only filled to 88.9% capacity as recently as 2013-14, when they finished 2nd in their division.

For a Blues or a Ducks fan to call Kings fans "bandwagon" or "fair-weather" fans is laughable.

Attendance arguments are stupid to begin with. LA and it's surrounding area is huge. The team has been there for 50 years. The Kings should draw good every night.

Anaheim made concessions to the Kings to get permission from them to even exist. Those concessions are still in effect today. It's called business. Some involve advertising, etc.

The Ducks will never draw like the Kings. If the Kings start a rebuild and miss the playoffs a few years running, their attendance will drop. The opposite may occur if the Ducks have playoff success a few years running, or if a franchise player emerges (ie. Conner McDavid).

We have owners with deep pockets, and it looks like the budget has increased. Hockey News came out with their Futures report and the Ducks look really good. They have a bright future.

I don't mind non sellouts. Concession stands aren't as crowded, and I can get out of the parking lot in a flash.

You have to admit, that was an awesome Stanley Cup final between Chicago and Montreal last season. Wait! Attendance has nothing to do with actual hockey? Well somebody had better tell these Kings' fans. They're under the impression attendance matters. I guess it's all they have these days.

Well said

In fact, for any duck fan to say kings have the bandwagon fans is just ridiculous. They should know the kings have a well rounded fan base... if they've been watching hockey before 2007.

ALL CALI TEAMS HAVE RESPECTABLE FAN BASES.

Unfortunately, the fans in Anaheim have the worst fans of Cali for a so called better team.

Proven fact and statistics.

And no, smart ass, thats not what matters most. But when you have A good team you would expect better attendance.

For the record, I don't expect this poop show of a team (LA) to make these playoffs. Even if they do, it's a 1st round exit. No thanks. I'll take the higher draft pick.

At most, 7 more games is pointless if you have no chance of winning cup.

Anaheim does for the Kings what they couldn't do for themselves; keep their playoff hopes alive.

I thought we'd see some form of gratitude, but you're a product of your environment.
